AI Assessment
Utilizing artificial intelligence in OperationsInitial situation
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) promises significant efficiency and quality improvements in the operations of industrial companies—especially in light of demographic change, cost pressure, and the increasing complexity that industrial companies are currently experiencing.
At the same time, AI remains an abstract topic for many companies: there is a lack of clarity about where specific potential lies, which use cases make economic sense, and what a pragmatic implementation might look like.
Early adoption of AI promises first-mover advantages.
NEONEX Solution
NEONEX's AI Assessment provides guidance and structure. In five consecutive steps, we work with you to identify specific AI potential along the order processing chain – from analyzing the available data base and describing relevant use cases to developing a prioritized implementation roadmap based on a cost-benefit analysis of these use cases. In doing so, we combine the implementation experience from 150+ industrial projects by NEONEX with the AI expertise from 60+ projects by our partner axio concept.
Process model: 5 steps to an AI roadmap
1. Scoping & current state analysis
During the kick-off, we work with you to clarify goals, train the project team, and define the scope of the analysis. At the same time, we check data availability and quality along the relevant end-to-end processes—typically order processing.
2. Potential assessment In one week, we work with your core team to systematically identify specific potential for the use of AI – e.g., to increase transparency, automation, or prediction quality. The focus is on clearly defined operational challenges with realistic solutions.
3. Concept development
For the top potentials, we create standardized use case one-pagers: description of the problem, objectives, technical solution approach, and expected benefits – supplemented by measurable KPIs and rough time/effort estimates.
4. Evaluation & prioritization
Using agreed criteria (e.g., business impact, feasibility, data availability), we evaluate the identified use cases together as a team. From this, we derive a well-founded prioritization – differentiated into “quick wins” and strategic levers.
5. Roadmap development
Finally, we develop a realistic, phase-based roadmap for implementing the prioritized use cases. The roadmap includes short-term pilot projects as well as medium-term initiatives – tailored to your resources, goals, and IT landscape.
Added value
You will receive a sound basis for decision-making regarding your AI strategy, including evaluated use cases, concrete implementation ideas, and a clear roadmap for the next 12–24 months. This will enable you to avoid costly flagship projects that have no impact and secure sustainable competitive advantages through the targeted use of artificial intelligence in your operations.
