Most companies recognise the Smart Factory as a great opportunity and are increasingly implementing individual projects. These are driven by the demand for transparency and are intended to boost efficiency. All in all, the German industry appears to be a cautious digital player that experts real technological and economic disruption only in the future. So companies are far from reaching their destination. There are still too few true Smart Enterprises.
